Job summary

Garlo's Pies in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Café/Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, manage rosters, and uphold food safety standards. You will drive sales, mentor staff, and ensure a vibrant customer experience for locals and pie enthusiasts.

A supportive Head Office team provides administrative backing, systems, and guidance, with a weekly pie allotment as a perk and a strong work-life balance including a two-week Christmas shutdown and public holidays observed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day cafe operations including staff rosters, inventory control, and quality assurance.
• Monitor store opening hours during holidays and closures on Google, Facebook, Too Good To Go and other online services.
• Lead, train, and mentor our team of café assistants.
• Drive sales and maintain a welcoming, high-energy environment for local workers and pie enthusiasts.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Develop and maintain delivery food applications (Uber, Door Dash, etc.).

Job description

Unlike a typical café management role, you won't need to manage bills or suppliers, allowing you to focus on what matters most: leading the team, delivering excellent customer service, running a smooth café.

Usual working days will be 5 days per week, typically Wednesday to Sunday but we are looking for someone that can be flexible to work up to 7 days on occasion.

Key responsibilities

Manage day-to-day café operations including staff rosters, inventory control, and quality assurance.

Manage store opening hours during public holidays and closure periods on Google, Facebook, Too Good To Go and other online services.

Lead, train, and mentor our team of café assistants.

Drive sales and maintain a welcoming, high-energy environment for local workers and pie enthusiasts.

Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Develop and maintain delivery food applications (Uber, Door Dash, etc.).

About you

A "hands-on" leadership style with excellent customer service and communication skills.

IT savvy – experience in managing café/restaurant related software applications.
