Job summary

Hunter Homes is seeking a motivated Cadet Site Supervisor to join our regional residential construction team in Australia. You will work with experienced Site Supervisors to support day-to-day site management and learn building practices, planning, and client communication.

This role offers hands-on experience across new homes, renovations and maintenance, with opportunities to develop into a Site Supervisor as skills grow.

Qualifications

• Previous construction experience or relevant industry experience preferred.
• Carpentry background or construction qualification highly regarded.
• Willingness to learn and develop site supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Supervisors with the day-to-day coordination and management of residential construction sites.
• Assist with maintaining job sites to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and safety.
• Gain practical experience across the construction of new homes, renovations and maintenance works.
• Assist with coordinating and scheduling trades and subcontractors.
• Assist with monitoring construction progress and ensuring onsite tasks are completed within required timeframes.
• Provide support and direction to construction labourers and trades as required under the guidance of the Site Supervisor.
• Assist with site inspections and quality checks.
• Learn to read and interpret building plans, specifications, sketches and drawings.
• Assist with identifying and resolving onsite issues.
• Update daily work schedules and construction information.
• Assist with coordinating maintenance works and keeping the Client Services Coordinator informed of progress and any changes to scheduled works.
• Develop professional relationships with trades, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and internal team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism when dealing with clients.
• Learn and confidently use Companion Software and other internal company systems.
• Assist with maintaining accurate site records and documentation.
• Attend construction meetings and toolbox meetings as required.
• Follow and implement all company WHS policies and procedures.
• Assist with general construction duties and other tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor or Management.
• Attend internal and external training, including interstate training where required.
• Attend company events, promotion launches, fundraising events, openings and other corporate activities from time to time.
• Undertake other duties as reasonably directed by Management.

About the Role

As a Cadet Site Supervisor, you will work alongside our experienced Site Supervisors to support the day-to-day management of construction sites and assist in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to Hunter Homes' high standards. You will gain exposure to all stages of the construction process while developing your understanding of building practices, scheduling, subcontractor management, quality control, WHS and client communication.

Previous construction experience, a carpentry background, construction qualification or relevant industry experience will be highly regarded, but we are also open to applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.
