Job summary

Frontline Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a motivated Pre-Construction Cadet Estimator to join a growing construction business specialising in insulation, sheetmetal and passive fire services. This is an entry-level opportunity to develop skills across estimating, pre-construction and project coordination.

You will work with experienced Estimators and Project Managers, with training and mentoring, Monday to Friday 8:00am–4:00pm, Kirrawee location with off-street parking.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction and related fields.
• Experience in estimating, administration or project coordination is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-construction activities and project coordination.
• Review plans and prepare quotations.
• Assist with material take-offs, quantities, labour costs and pricing.
• Research material pricing.
• Prepare scopes of work and cost breakdowns for client quotations.
• Coordinate project documentation and inductions.
• Maintain accurate project and client records.
• Assist with quality-control and site documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NCC.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Pre-Construction Cadet Estimator to join a growing construction business specialising in insulation, sheetmetal and passive fire services across Sydney.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone genuinely interested in building a career in construction. Working alongside experienced Estimators and Project Managers, you’ll develop practical skills across estimating, pre-construction and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-construction activities and project coordination.
• Review plans and project requirements and assist with preparing quotations.
• Assist with material take-offs, quantities, labour costs and pricing.
• Research and source material pricing.
• Prepare scopes of work and cost breakdowns for client quotations.
• Coordinate project documentation, including SWMS, registers and inductions.
• Maintain accurate project and client records.
• Assist with quality-control and site documentation.
• Ensure work complies with Australian Standards, NCC requirements and manufacturer specifications.

Key Skills & Experience

• Genuine interest in the construction industry, particularly insulation, sheetmetal or passive fire.
• Previous construction, estimating, administration or project coordination experience is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other computer programs.
• Good mathematical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
• Strong understanding of safety and compliance.
• Reliable, professional and hardworking.
• A relevant Construction Management or Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Full-time, ongoing position.
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
