Job summary
Genus Infrastructure in Western Australia is seeking experienced High Voltage (HV) Cable Jointers to contribute to major utility, mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. You will join a safety‑conscious team and work under the Project Manager to install, joint, terminate, test, and maintain HV underground cable systems across large-scale projects in WA.
The role is ideal for driven professionals with a proven background in HV distribution and transmission networks, strong safety
Qualifications
- Certificate III in ESI – Cable Jointing is required.
- WA Electrical Workers Licence (A Grade) is required.
- Current Raychem Accreditation is desirable.
- Minimum 3 years HV Cable Jointing experience.
- Experience with HV cable terminations and jointing systems.
- Strong understanding of HV electrical safety practices and procedures.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Current White Card.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Perform HV cable jointing and termination works in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Install, maintain, and operate cable jointing equipment and associated tooling.
- Prepare and joint HV power cables and associated accessories.
- Complete indoor and outdoor cable terminations for substations, switchgear, transformers, and other HV equipment.
- Conduct cable fault finding, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with HV cable testing and commissioning activities.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and statutory requirements.
- Complete quality documentation, testing records, and project reports.
