PHE High Voltage, part of PHE Group, is seeking an experienced HV Cable Jointer/Terminator for a full-time position in Brisbane (Eagle Farm). You will joint, terminate and repair HV cables up to 33 kV, both underground and overhead, and support PILC to XLPE transitions, with travel across Australia.

The role requires strong HV safety knowledge, EWP and induction credentials, and the ability to mentor apprentices. FIFO/DIDO rosters may apply; candidates must be eligible to work in Australia.

Qualifikationen

• Electrical licence and Cert III in Electrotechnology or equivalent required.
• Cert III in ESI – Cable Jointing is preferred; distribution overhead certificates are advantageous.
• EWP licence and working at heights certification required.
• CPR and LVR current and valid.
• Unrestricted C class driver’s licence held.
• White/Blue construction induction card held and up-to-date.
• Ability to pass site medicals and drug and alcohol testing.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

PHE High Voltage is growing and we're looking for an experienced HV Cable Jointer / Terminator to join our team in Brisbane (Eagle Farm). This is a full-time, permanent role working across mining, hydro, utility, renewables and industrial sites around Australia.

In this role, you will:

• Joint, terminate and repair HV underground cables up to 33 kV – XLPE and PILC (paper-insulated lead-covered).
• Install PILC to XLPE transition joints and replace old pot heads and terminations.
• Install and terminate on overhead networks – pole-top cable terminations (UGOH), surge arresters, drop-out fuses and air break switches.
• Lay and install cable in trenches, pits, conduit and cable tray.
• Find and repair cable faults, working with our HV test team (IR, VLF and partial discharge testing).
• Work to permits, isolations, SWMS and JSEAs, and complete ITRs and test records for every job.
• Mentor apprentices and junior electricians.

ABOUT YOU:

• Proven HV cable jointing and terminating experience up to 33 kV, underground and overhead.
• PILC / paper-lead jointing and transition joint experience (highly regarded).
• Overhead line experience – pole-top work and EWP work.
• Familiar with Raychem (TE), Nexans, Prysmian, 3M and Sicame jointing systems.
• Strong understanding of HV safety, access and isolation procedures.
• Willing to travel and work on site rosters (FIFO / DIDO).
• Able to work on your own or as part of a crew.

The successful candidate will have:

• Electrical licence and Cert III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent trade certification).
• Cert III in ESI – Cable Jointing, or manufacturer jointing certificates (preferred).
• Cert III in ESI – Distribution Overhead (highly regarded).
• EWP licence (WP) and working at heights.
• Current CPR and LVR.
• Unrestricted C class driver's licence.
• White / Blue construction induction card.
• Able to pass site medicals and drug and alcohol testing.
