Business Development Manager - Virtual Allied Health & Specialist Services
Help build the future of virtual allied health and specialist care
Sydney
Hybrid, Full Time
Our client is an established national virtual healthcare provider with a strong reputation and a loyal B2B customer base across aged care, hospitals, primary care, PHNs, insurers and government-funded programs. They're now expanding into virtual allied health and specialist services, and they need a commercially sharp, clinically credible Business Development Manager to shape and grow this new division.
If you understand how allied health and specialist services are funded and referred, and you get energised by turning a service gap into a signed contract, keep reading.
What you'll be doing
- Opening doors that already exist. You'll start by taking new virtual allied health and specialist offerings to the client's existing partners, so you won't be cold-calling into the void.
- Creating markets that don't. You'll map where virtual care solves real problems, such as workforce shortages, long wait lists, rural and after-hours access gaps, and complex multidisciplinary care.
- Talking to decision-makers. You'll work with CEOs, practice principals, clinical directors, insurer leaders, PHN executives and public health stakeholders, often co-designing solutions in the room.
- Turning conversations into revenue. You'll run a disciplined CRM pipeline and take opportunities through pilots, proposals, tenders and contracts.
- Having a voice in the product. You'll feed what you hear in the market back into service design, pricing and positioning, and later help shape a direct-to-consumer offering.
What you'll bring
- A background in business development, partnerships, consulting or commercial roles within healthcare, ideally allied health or specialist services
- A clinical background in allied health or paramedicine (highly regarded), or nursing or health management
- A working knowledge of the Australian funding landscape: MBS, private health insurance, NDIS, DVA, workers' compensation, CTP and PHN commissioning
- A track record of building pipelines in long-cycle, relationship-led markets
- The ability to translate clinical models into compelling commercial proposals and business cases
- Strong writing and presentation skills, including tenders
- Salesforce or similar CRM experience, and a willingness to travel nationally
Why this role stands out
- A genuine ground-floor opportunity to build and lead a new business line
- The backing of an established organisation with real market credibility
- Room to think creatively and solve unstructured problems, rather than follow a script
- Visible impact on access to care for patients who currently go without
- Hybrid working from Sydney, with national exposure
