WorkPac is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across North Queensland’s mining, manufacturing and industrial sectors. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, expanding customer relationships and collaborating with internal teams to achieve solid outcomes.

You will develop regional strategies, pursue new business, and manage quotes and tenders while maintaining margins. Regular travel across regional Queensland is required for customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development or technical sales.
• Experience in heavy engineering, mining services, fabrication, machining, hydraulics or related industries.
• Strong commercial acumen with negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated and results-driven.
• Technically credible with ability to understand engineering solutions.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across North Queensland, focusing on the mining, manufacturing and industrial sectors. This is a key commercial role responsible for identifying new opportunities, growing existing customer relationships and working closely with internal engineering and operations teams to deliver strong outcomes

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional business development strategies across North Queensland.
• Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key mining and industrial customers.
• Prepare and manage quotations, tenders and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate commercial agreements while maintaining target margins.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines and forecasts.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering and Production teams.
• Travel regularly throughout regional Queensland to meet customers and identify opportunities.
• Represent our client across the mining, manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Experience Required

• Proven experience in business development, technical sales or a similar commercial role.
• Experience within heavy engineering, mining services, fabrication, machining, hydraulics, lubrication or related industries.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and contract management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long‑term customer relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and results‑driven approach.
• Technically credible with the ability to understand and communicate engineering solutions.
• Current Australian Drivers Licence and unrestricted Australian working rights.
