Draft Building Solutions Pty Ltd – Campbelltown NSW is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Sydney Fit Out and Refurbishment sector. The role focuses on occupied spaces and opportunities across hospitality, government, defence, aged care and education, working with the MD and leadership team to open new client doors and secure projects.

Our client is a highly regarded Sydney commercial builder specialising in Fit Out and Refurbishment, with an outstanding reputation, strong pipeline and growing presence across the market.

The business is continuing its progression into the Tier 2 space, backed by a strong leadership team and a young, ambitious group of construction professionals. The culture is fast-moving, collaborative and genuinely hungry to keep building on what has already been achieved.

As part of that growth, they are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to help drive the next phase.

This isn’t about chasing tender volume. They want someone who knows the market, has genuine relationships and can open new doors, create opportunities and introduce the business to new clients and sectors.

The Opportunity

The focus will be on occupied spaces, including hospitality, government, defence, aged care and education, while remaining open to other sectors where you have strong relationships.

Projects will predominantly be Fit Out and Refurbishment, often in live and occupied environments.

You’ll have the autonomy to leverage your network, open new doors and create opportunities, backed by a contractor with the reputation and delivery capability to follow through.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing new client and consultant relationships across the Sydney market
• Opening doors with organisations and decision-makers not currently working with the business
• Identifying upcoming Fit Out and Heavy Refurbishment opportunities
• Building a sustainable pipeline of quality project opportunities
• Developing opportunities across hospitality, government, defence, aged care, education and other relevant sectors
• Maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Working closely with the Managing Director and leadership team on business development strategy
• Providing market intelligence around clients, competitors, sectors and upcoming projects
• Supporting client presentations, submissions, networking and industry engagement
• Contributing to the broader marketing and positioning of the business within the Sydney market

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced construction Business Development professional who understands the Sydney Fit Out and Refurbishment market and, importantly, has genuine relationships within it.

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

• Business Development experience within a commercial head contractor
• Strong knowledge of the Sydney Fit Out and Refurbishment market
• An established network of clients, consultants and industry contacts
• Experience developing and converting commercial construction opportunities
• Relationships across hospitality, hotels, government, defence, aged care or education would be highly regarded
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Good commercial judgement and an understanding of which opportunities are right for the business
• The confidence and credibility to engage with senior clients and key decision-makers
• A proactive and well-connected approach to the market
• The ability to operate autonomously while working closely with the leadership team
• Previous marketing experience or an interest in contributing to the broader marketing strategy would be advantageous
