Job summary

Commonwealth Bank Of Australia is seeking an experienced Business Banker to join the Small Business Banking team with location flexibility across Victoria. You will build relationships, understand client goals, and deliver tailored financial solutions across lending and everyday banking.

Based in Melbourne or regional Victoria, the role offers both in-branch and remote support to small businesses and emphasizes proactive service, pipeline management, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in small business or commercial lending.
• Strong business development and commercial acumen.
• Excellent customer engagement abilities both in person and remotely.
• Proven ability to manage customer pipelines and deliver proactive service.
• A passion for supporting small business customers; FSRA Tier 2 and CAA Level 2 or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Engage in meaningful conversations to uncover goals and deliver financial solutions including commercial lending up to $1.5M.
• Proactively support customers to reach their business and personal goals.
• Represent CBA as a brand ambassador in the local business community and host educational events.

We’re seeking an experienced Business Banker to join our Small Business Banking team, with location flexibility across Victoria. Whether you’re based in Melbourne or regional Victoria, we’re open to finding the right candidate.

Supporting customers across Victoria and Tasmania, you'll work closely with a range of referral partners including brokers, Premier Banking, CBA Branches and Commercial Banking teams to help customers access the right banking and lending solutions.

In this role, you'll build strong customer relationships, understand each customer's unique goals and challenges, and provide end-to-end support across their banking needs. You'll combine your commercial acumen with a customer-first mindset to identify opportunities, deliver tailored solutions and help small businesses grow with the backing of CommBank's products, services and expertise.

More specifically, you will:

• Engaging in meaningful customer conversations to uncover goals and deliver timely, relevant financial solutions - including commercial lending up to $1.5M, asset finance, merchant services, and everyday banking.
• Proactively engage customers to support their business and personal goals
• Representing CBA as a brand ambassador in the local business community, including hosting educational events to promote financial wellbeing
• Attending stakeholder meetings to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services and foster referral partnerships.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in small business or commercial lending, business banking, or a similar customer-facing financial services role
• Strong Business Development Skills and commercial acumen
• Excellent customer engagement abilities, both in-person and remotely
• A track record of managing customer pipelines and delivering proactive service
• A genuine passion for supporting Small Business customers—or firsthand experience running one.
• FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation and Credit Approval Authority (CAA) Level 2, or a willingness to obtain these within 6 months
