Job summary

CommBank is seeking an experienced Business Banker to join the Melbourne CBD and regional VIC team. You will build strong relationships, assess customer goals, and deliver tailored lending and banking solutions for small businesses across Victoria and Tasmania.

This role blends in-branch and remote support to help customers grow with CommBank's products and expertise. You'll work with brokers, Premier Banking, and branches to identify opportunities, manage a customer pipeline, and drive outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience in Small Business Lending or Commercial Lending
• Strong business development and commercial acumen
• Excellent customer engagement, in-person and remote
• Track record of managing customer pipelines and proactive service
• Passion for supporting small business customers or experience running one
• Willingness to obtain FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation and CAA Level 2 within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to uncover goals and deliver financial solutions, including lending up to $1.5M.
• Proactively support customers' business and personal goals.
• Represent CBA as a brand ambassador in the local business community.
• Attend stakeholder meetings to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services and foster referrals.

We’re seeking an experienced Business Banker to join our high-performing team based in Melbourne CBD.

Supporting customers across Victoria and Tasmania, you'll work closely with a range of referral partners including brokers, Premier Banking, CBA Branches and Commercial Banking teams to help customers access the right banking and lending solutions.

In this role, you'll build strong customer relationships, understand each customer's unique goals and challenges, and provide end-to-end support across their banking needs. You'll combine your commercial acumen with a customer-first mindset to identify opportunities, deliver tailored solutions and help small businesses grow with the backing of CommBank's products, services and expertise.

More specifically, you will:

• Engaging in meaningful customer conversations to uncover goals and deliver timely, relevant financial solutions—including commercial lending up to $1.5M, asset finance, merchant services, and everyday banking.
• Proactively engage customers to support their business and personal goals
• Representing CBA as a brand ambassador in the local business community, including hosting educational events to promote financial wellbeing
• Attending stakeholder meetings to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services and foster referral partnerships.

• Proven experience in Small Business Lending, Commercial LendingorB2B sales

• A track record of managing customer pipelines and delivering proactive service
• A genuine passion for supporting Small Business customers—or firsthand experience running one.
