Job summary

Intertek SAI Global is seeking a Client Manager – Building Products Certification to lead certification projects, audits and client management across Australia and New Zealand. You will collaborate with manufacturers, testing laboratories and regulatory bodies to ensure products meet NCC, BCA and AS/ASNZS standards.

You’ll drive certification decisions, manage client relationships, and coordinate projects with internal teams, while travelling domestically and internationally as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Building, Construction, Materials Science or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience in building product testing, compliance, certification, manufacturing, engineering design or quality assurance.
• Solid understanding of Australian building regulations (NCC, BCA, AS/AS/NZS).
• Experience reviewing technical documentation and test results for compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with interpretation of technical info.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management to engage manufacturers and clients.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product certification audits, technical evaluations and compliance assessments against standards and schemes.
• Review specifications, engineering reports and test results to assess compliance.
• Evaluate certification applications and supporting evidence for decisions.
• Support certification activities for building products, systems and new technologies.
• Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, providing technical guidance and certification support.
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, technical specialists and stakeholders.
• Act as a main point of contact for enquiries, updates and client requirements.
• Deliver high-quality service to support client satisfaction and retention.
• Conduct audits per accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and manage non-conformances, risks and product compliance issues.
• Ensure activities align with NCC, relevant standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Maintain accurate technical records, reports and documentation.
• Coordinate certification projects, audit schedules and assessment activities to meet timeframes.
• Collaborate with testing labs, certification specialists and internal teams for delivery.
• Stay updated on building regulations and standards changes.
• Contribute technical expertise to proposals and continuous improvement initiatives.
