Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Breakfast Commis Chef to join a vibrant kitchen team. The role starts early with a shift from 5.00am to 1.00pm, offering a day ahead for personal time while contributing to high-quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.

You will support in preparing meals, maintaining standards, and collaborating with banquet and front-of-house teams to ensure guest satisfaction and adherence to food safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications and demonstrated experience in a similar role in a busy restaurant or hotel.
• Working knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.

Responsabilités

• Playing a critical role in our breakfast culinary team, by delivering a seamless and exceptional experience for hotel guests.
• Assisting in the preparation of a diverse range of meals, for breakfast, lunch and dinner and special menu items, adhering to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
• Ensuring all food items are of the highest quality and cooked to the required specifications, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and texture.
• Monitoring and manage inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely requisition of items as needed.
• Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace, following proper sanitation and food safety guidelines.
• Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, including safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
• Coordinating with other departments, such as banquet and catering, to fulfil special orders and dietary requirements
• Conducting regular quality control checks to ensure the freshness, taste, and appearance of food items.
• Collaborating with the front-of-house staff to ensure efficient food delivery and guest satisfaction.
