Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Adelaide is seeking a Full Time Breakfast Commis Chef with a passion for presentation and high standards. You’ll prep dishes mainly for Riverside Buffet Breakfast Kitchen and Club Lounge Breakfast, keeping HACCP compliance and clean workspace.

You’ll contribute to menu ideas and support a busy breakfast service. Ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a professional kitchen, flexible to night/weekend shifts, and holds a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

Qualifications

• Must have full AM Availability before 15:00pm
• 1–2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
• Proven ability to manage a section independently or with minimal supervision
• A passion for food, quality, and continuous learning
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods
• The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• The unrestricted right to work in Australia

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and production of high-quality dishes across outlets including a la carte, buffet, and banquets
• Take ownership of workstation – manage supplies, equipment and waste, ensuring mise en place and service requirements are met
• Maintain cleanliness to meet HACCP requirements
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and consistency
• Contribute to menu development, daily specials and new dish ideas
• Collaborate with the Demi Chef, Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
