Job summary

MCA Engineering is seeking a Branch Administrator in Mount Isa to support project teams and management with comprehensive administrative duties. You will handle high-volume timesheets for payroll, coordinate travel, and maintain records across multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.

Strong Excel/Outlook skills and a manual driving licence are essential, with experience in mining/industrial settings highly regarded.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in busy administration or project administration.
  • Experience supporting operational, mining, construction or industrial teams preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with payroll or timesheets is advantageous.
  • Current manual driver's licence required.

  • Provide administrative support to project teams and management
  • Process high-volume timesheet data accurately for payroll
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation and site mobilisation
  • Maintain accurate electronic records
  • Prepare reports and documentation using Microsoft Office
  • Utilise SimPRO or Ideagen (training provided)
  • Order office supplies and assist purchasing
  • Collect parts, company vehicles and run errands (manual licence required)
  • Assist with onboarding and general office coordination
  • Provide support across a range of operational tasks
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Branch Administrator to support our growing operations in Mount Isa. This role is suited to someone who can confidently manage competing priorities, work with minimal supervision and provide high-level administrative support to a busy operational team.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office while supporting project teams, supervisors and management across a broad range of administrative functions.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to project teams and management
  • Process high-volume timesheet data accurately for payroll preparation
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation and site mobilisation requirements
  • Maintain accurate electronic records
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets and documentation using Microsoft Office
  • Utilise multiple systems and internal software efficiently, including SimPRO & Ideagen (full training will be supplied)
  • Order office supplies and assist with purchasing requirements
  • Collect parts, company vehicles and complete errands as required (manual driver's licence essential)
  • Assist with onboarding documentation and general office coordination
  • Provide support across a range of operational and administrative tasks
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls from employees and clients professionally where required

About the Candidate
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a busy administration, office coordination or project administration role
  • Previous experience supporting operational, mining, construction or industrial teams will be highly regarded
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience processing high-volume data with exceptional accuracy
  • Experience coordinating travel and accommodation bookings
  • Experience using SimPRO or similar job management systems is highly desirable
  • Previous payroll or timesheet data entry experience is highly regarded
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to liaise with employees, clients and suppliers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Current driver's licence with the ability to operate a manual vehicle
