Job summary

Thiess is seeking a trade-qualified Boilermaker to maintain and repair mobile mining equipment at Curragh North Coal Project in Queensland. You will contribute to safe, reliable fleet performance and work within a high-performing maintenance team.

The role covers welding, fabrication, gouging, and interpretation of technical information, with a 7/7 day/night roster and full camp facilities. Applicants should hold a Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent, have post-trade

Qualifications

• Trade Certification or equivalent.
• Evidence of post-trade experience in mining/heavy earthmoving environments.
• Strong welding, gouging and fabrication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on mobile mining equipment per Thiess procedures.
• Complete welding, fabrication, gouging and cutting to support reliability and availability.
• Source and interpret technical information from manuals and bulletins.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and maintain safe work practices.
• Ensure workshop tooling remains fit for purpose and report unsafe equipment.

The Opportunity

Are you a trade-qualified Boilermaker with a passion for heavy mobile equipment maintenance and delivering quality workmanship? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Boilermakers to join our high-performing team at Curragh North Coal Project.

As a key member of the Curragh North Maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile mining equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient fleet performance to support operational targets.

Roster: 7/7 Day & Night | Location: Curragh North Coal Project, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

As the Boilermaker, you will:

• Perform repair and maintenance activities on mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems and procedures.
• Complete welding, fabrication, gouging and cutting activities to support equipment reliability and availability.
• Source and interpret technical information from maintenance manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based systems.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and maintain safe work practices at all times.
• Ensure workshop tooling remains fit for purpose and report unsafe equipment when identified.

About you

• Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent trade qualification.
• Demonstrated post-trade experience within mining, heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator environments.
• Strong welding, gouging, cutting and fabrication capabilities.
• Experience working on mobile plant equipment and performing heavy welding repairs.
• Current Standard 11.
• Current Driver Licence, with HR Licence highly regarded.
• A proactive attitude and commitment to working safely within a high-performing team.
