Job summary

Thiess is hiring a Diesel Fitter to maintain heavy mining equipment at Lake Vermont Mine, Dysart, Queensland. You will join the Lake Vermont Maintenance team and ensure safe, reliable fleet performance through planned maintenance, repairs and servicing.

The role requires a Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting and post-trade mining experience, with a 7/7 even-time roster and a permanent full-time status. A current driver’s licence and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or recognised equivalent.
• Post-trade experience within the mining or heavy earthmoving industry.
• Experience undertaking maintenance, breakdowns, servicing and component change outs on heavy mining equipment.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify breakdowns to minimise equipment downtime.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Diesel Fitter with a passion for maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking motivated and safety-focused Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont Mine near Dysart, Queensland.

As a key member of the Lake Vermont Maintenance team, you’ll play an important role in supporting safe, reliable and efficient fleet performance through quality maintenance, repairs and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment.

Roster: 7/7 Even Time (Day & Night Shift) | Location: Lake Vermont Mine, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As the Diesel Fitter, you will
