Job summary

Thiess invites skilled tradespeople to join our off-site rebuild facility at Mt Thorley Industrial Estate. You will perform quality repairs and routine maintenance on a broad range of mining equipment, sourcing technical information and ensuring safe, efficient work practices.

Ideal candidates hold a Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication and may have MDG25, EWP and dogging qualifications. A HR licence is preferred for site mobility and ongoing career development at Thiess.

Qualifications

• Must have formal trade certification in engineering fabrication or equivalent.
• Post-trade experience in mining or heavy earthmoving is preferred.
• HR licence preferable for some site tasks.
• MDG25, EWP and dogging qualifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality repairs and maintenance of a diverse fleet in accordance with Thiess policies and procedures, safely and efficiently.
• Source technical information from manuals, bulletins and computer-based systems to guide maintenance.
• Responsible for the use and storage of workshop tools and reporting defects or safety issues.
• Set and maintain high housekeeping standards and carry out pre-start checks and risk assessments as required.

About the Role

Get paid Mine site rates whilst working in our off-site rebuild facility located at Mt Thorley Industrial Estate!

In this role, you will:

Perform quality repairs and maintenance of a diverse fleet in accordance with Thiess policies and procedures, safely and efficiently

Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based system and execute maintenance in accordance with this information

Be responsible for the use and proper storage of workshop and personal tooling and advise the supervisor of any defects or safety issues

Set and maintain high housekeeping standards

Carry out pre-start checks, and personal and group risk assessments as required by the task

About you

To be considered for this role you are required to have:

Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or Equivalent

HR Drivers licence preferable

EWP, Dogging and MDG25 (preferable)

Post trade experience working in the mining and heavy earthmoving industry, or hydraulic excavator industry
