Job summary

Thiess is seeking a hands-on Trade Assistant to join the QCoal Northern Hub Project in Queensland. You will help maintain site infrastructure, workshops, grounds and facilities, ensuring a safe and clean working environment for all personnel.

Roster is 7/7 dayshift; permanent employment. Requirements include a current driver's licence, Standard 11, and prior maintenance or construction experience. Camp accommodation and meals are provided.

• Experience in a Trade Assistant, maintenance or construction-related role.
• Current Driver's Licence is required.
• Standard 11 certification is required.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Are you a hands-on, reliable maintenance professional with a passion for keeping sites safe, operational and well-presented? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Trade Assistant to join our high-performing team at the QCoal Northern Hub Project.

As a key member of the QCoal Northern Hub team, you'll play an important role in maintaining site infrastructure, workshops, grounds and facilities to ensure a safe, clean and efficient working environment for all personnel.

Roster: 7/7 Dayshift Only | Location: QCoal Northern Hub, Queensland | Employment Type: Permanent

As the Trade Assistant, you will:

• Perform grounds maintenance including slashing, whipper snipping, weed control, pest management and bunding upkeep.
• Maintain workshops, facilities and site infrastructure through cleaning, repairs, signage maintenance and general upkeep activities.
• Carry out minor building maintenance and civil works, including concreting, road repairs, sump cleaning and water treatment plant inspections.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• A strong commitment to safety and positive workplace culture.
• Previous experience in a Trade Assistant, maintenance or construction-related role.
• Experience working within an open cut mining environment (highly desirable).
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Standard 11 certification.

• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
