Job summary

EC Group is a Brisbane-based building automation specialist seeking a motivated BMS Commissioning Technician to join our Murarrie team. You will focus on commissioning, testing and handover of Building Management Systems across commercial projects, collaborating with project managers, engineers and installation teams.

You will have at least 2 years' BMS/HVAC controls experience, with commissioning exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in BMS/building automation or HVAC controls.
• BMS commissioning experience highly regarded.
• Reading electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing BMS installations across commercial projects.
• Carrying out point-to-point checks and functional testing.
• Testing and verifying field devices, sensors, actuators and control systems.
• Assisting with BMS programming, configuration and system integration.
• Identifying and resolving commissioning issues and technical faults.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, control schematics and project specifications.
• Working alongside project managers, engineers and installation teams to deliver projects.
• Completing commissioning documentation, testing reports and client handovers.
• Ensuring systems are operating efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and experienced BMS Commissioning Technician to join our Brisbane team based in Murarrie.

About the Role

This is a project-focused role responsible for the commissioning, testing and successful handover of Building Management Systems across a variety of commercial projects.

Working closely with our project managers, engineers and installation teams, you will ensure BMS systems are correctly configured, tested and operating in accordance with project specifications.

We are looking for someone with previous BMS experience, ideally in commissioning, who enjoys technical problem-solving and wants to develop their career within building automation.

We would also welcome applications from experienced BMS Service Technicians looking to transition into a dedicated commissioning role.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing BMS installations across commercial projects.

About You

• Minimum 2 years' experience in BMS, building automation or HVAC controls.
• Previous BMS commissioning experience highly regarded.
• Experience with BMS service, troubleshooting or maintenance will also be considered.
• Understanding of HVAC control systems and mechanical services.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and other communication protocols.
• Exposure to platforms such as Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell, Tridium Niagara or Optergy.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, hands-on approach.
• Current driver's licence.
