Job summary

CSIRO’s Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong, Victoria, is seeking a Project Officer to coordinate the APLR program and support the Biosecurity Research Unit. Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, engineering, business or related discipline.
• Experience coordinating complex projects in a regulated environment, ideally within life sciences or infrastructure.
• Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, risk logs and governance documentation.
• Experience managing procurement activities and contract administration in a Commonwealth or similarly governed environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Biosecurity Research Unit’s involvement in the APLR program, supporting planning, monitoring and delivery of project activities and outcomes.
• Maintain project schedules, action/issue registers, risk information and governance documents to support timely decisions.
• Act as a liaison between the APLR Integration Manager and scientists, operational teams and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate information requests, reviews and approvals ensuring regulatory and user requirements are captured and progressed.
• Manage Research Unit-funded procurement and contract activities, including preparing specifications.
• Support operational readiness, commissioning and certification for refurbished facilities and equipment.
• Prepare clear reports and briefings, and identify risks and dependencies affecting operations or delivery.
