Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Bereavement Services Supervisor - Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of cemeteries and crematorium at Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens, ensuring safe, respectful service delivery.

You will supervise the Bereavement Services team, coordinate burial, cremation and interment services, manage grounds and facilities, and prepare reports to support decision-making. A compassionate, organised leader with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Compassionate leader with strong communication skills and team supervision experience.
• Experience in cemetery, crematorium or facility management or related activity.
• Demonstrated adherence to safety, regulatory compliance and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Bereavement Services team and provide leadership and direction.
• Coordinate burial, cremation, interment and memorial services with compliance.
• Communicate professionally with families, funeral directors and the public.
• Oversee cemetery grounds, buildings and infrastructure for safety and respect.
• Support continuous improvement, planning and service delivery outcomes.
• Prepare reports and provide recommendations for operational decisions.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and workplace safety.
