Job summary

Bakers Delight Salamander Bay, Monavale & Forestway is hiring a qualified Baker to join our team. This full-time position offers about 38 hours per week with a flexible roster including early shifts from 4 AM to 12 PM.

You will bake per menu, check equipment, weigh ingredients, knead dough, prepare fillings, monitor oven temperatures and assist with supervising apprentices. Applicants with 1 year experience or a Certificate III in Baking will have an advantage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year baking experience or Certificate III in Baking.
• Available to work across 7 days, including early mornings (as early as 4 am) and possibly public holidays.
• Able to work in a fast-paced team and communicate with customers and staff.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and can train, develop and supervise apprentices and staff.
• Adheres to company policies and safety procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Make and prepare bakery items per menu.
• Check equipment cleanliness and operation to ensure OH&S compliance.
• Check quality of raw materials and weigh ingredients.
• Knead, mature, cut, mould, mix and shape dough and pastry goods.
• Prepare pastry fillings.
• Monitor oven temperatures and baking times.
• Coordinate forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches.
• Glaze buns and pastries, decorate cakes with cream and icing.
• Operate machines that roll and mould dough and cut biscuits.
• Empty, clean and grease baking trays and other equipment.

Bakers Delight Salamander Bay , Monavale & Forestway is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic Qualified Bakerto join the Bakery.

Key Responsibilities

making and preparing bakery items as per menu

checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients

kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

preparing pastry fillings

monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times

coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products

glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing

operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits

emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment

To be considered for this role you need to be ableto meet the following selection criteria.

Ability to be available for work across the 7 days of the week,which may include evening work and some public holidays (starting times can be as early as 4 am)

Train, develop and supervise apprentices and staff in the Bakery Department

Applicants with minimum of 1 years’ experience or Certificate III in Baking, as a Baker will have advantage for this role.
