Job summary

Megaport is seeking a mid-level Backend Software Engineer to own features in a globally deployed NaaS platform. You will join a team that builds the core APIs and services behind the Megaport platform, working in a JVM stack with Java and Kotlin, and evolving towards Kotlin.

Expect mentoring, collaboration with product and engineering teams, and ongoing architectural improvements. You’ll ship high-quality software with a modern stack including Spring Boot, Postgres, Redis and RabbitMQ, while

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services in Java or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and modern JVM stack.
• Strong relational data modeling and query design.
• Excellent communication and ownership of delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship backend services and APIs from concept to production.
• Work with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ to shape the platform.
• Operate on Kubernetes on AWS and use GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Collaborate across teams to keep systems reliable, secure and fast.
• Write tests (JUnit/Kotest) and participate in code reviews.
• Help evolve architecture and reduce technical debt.
