Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Sydney is seeking Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety equipment at AWS data centers operates at peak performance.

You will support routine maintenance, monitor systems, and work with contractors across site schedules. The role requires physical work, 12-hour shifts on a rotating 24/7 schedule, and ability to access confined spaces.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Can work at heights and from ladders.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
• Knowledge of concepts and interaction of service management systems (problem and change).
• Experience prioritizing and delivering projects on time in a fast-moving environment.
• Electrical or mechanical trade certification (Cert III/IV) or relevant tertiary qualification.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine maintenance and emergency service of critical systems such as switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, and fire systems.
• Installation of new rack capacity and provisioning of power/cooling.
• On-site management of contractors and vendors, ensuring all work is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking.
• Generate change management requests & incident management tickets for all facility-related events.
• Assist in the resolution of infrastructure engineering and services issues.
• Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.]
