Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Facilities Operations Centre Engineer to support the operation of a 24x7 Facilities Operations Centre responsible for critical data centre infrastructure in Sydney.

The role monitors electrical, mechanical and broader infrastructure systems and coordinates responses when issues arise. You will help turn real-time infrastructure data into operational decisions and support incident response and recovery.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of data centre engineering or operations experience.
• 1 year of construction, project management, electrical, or mechanical engineering experience.
• High school or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor data centre facilities infrastructure and identify operational issues.
• Act as central contact during critical site events.
• Coordinate communication and escalation across teams.
• Support emergency recovery activities across multiple teams and locations.
• Contribute to post-incident analysis and continuous improvement.
• Develop and refine communication, escalation and operating protocols.
• Support development of operational tools and processes.
• Maintain accurate operational records and institutional knowledge.
• Mentor operations personnel.
• Work within a 24x7 shift environment, including weekends and public holidays.
