Job summary

Redpath Mining in Western Australia is seeking an Automation Specialist to support diagnostics, maintenance, and deployment of remote and autonomous systems across mining sites. You will troubleshoot complex electrical and control issues and perform preventative maintenance to maximise asset availability.

This full-time, FIFO role offers an even roster, safety-focused culture, and ongoing OEM accredited training.

Qualifications

• Proven site-based experience with remote control and autonomous systems in mining.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills for electrical and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with IP networking and communications in fixed/mobile equipment.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and quality maintenance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced fault finding, maintenance, and repair of electrical, remote, and autonomous systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
• Monitor and maintain OT networks, remote plant, and associated equipment in accordance with OEM requirements, industry standards, and site procedures.
• Complete maintenance documentation, service records, and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Identify, assess, and manage workplace risks, undertaking pre-start inspections, Take 5s, and JSAs to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety initiatives, including toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, incident reporting, and ICAM investigations as required.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across remote operations facilities, stores, and work areas, and travel to site to perform field-based work when required.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive professional to support the diagnostics, maintenance, and implementation of remote and autonomous systems. In this role, you will troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with the deployment of new technologies. You will play a key role in ensuring remote assets remain safe, reliable, and operational, maximising availability and efficiency across autonomous operations.

About You

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Demonstrate

• Proven site-based experience working with remote control and autonomous systems in a mining or heavy industry environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
• The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with IP networking and communications systems for both fixed infrastructure and mobile equipment.
• Sound knowledge of electrical, electronic, and control systems used on mining and autonomous equipment.
• A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality maintenance outcomes.
