Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician to join our maintenance team. You will maintain, diagnose, repair and service auto electrical systems on a diverse range of plant and equipment, ensuring maximum availability and safety.

This is a FIFO Perth, permanent full-time role with competitive pay and opportunities for career progression. You will work safely, read schematics, and perform preventative maintenance while adhering to regulations.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician with mining plant experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and control systems and schematics.
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills for planned maintenance.
• Current manual driver's licence; First Aid, CPR and Fire quals required; A/C licence desirable.
• Able to work independently and in a team with safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, diagnose and repair electrical systems on fixed and mobile plant.
• Perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, and pre-start inspections.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment, manage risks, and complete THAs/Take 5s.
• Complete maintenance documents and inspection records daily.
• Participate in safety initiatives, toolbox talks, ICAMs and incident reporting.

About The Role

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Auto Electrician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and servicing of auto electrical systems on a diverse range of plant and equipment. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates at maximum availability, reliability, and efficiency while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical wiring and electronic systems on fixed and mobile plant to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, component replacement, and pre‑start inspections in compliance with company standards and relevant regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment by managing risks, completing THAs/Take 5s, and adhering to all safety procedures and reporting requirements.
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation, inspection records, worksheets, and other required administrative tasks on a daily basis.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives, including pre‑start meetings, toolbox talks, ICAM investigations, and the reporting of incidents, accidents, and near misses.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician with experience maintaining light vehicles, heavy mobile equipment, and mining plant.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and control systems, with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Current manual driver’s licence; First Aid, CPR, and Fire qualifications required. Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
