Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking a qualified Diesel Fitter to join the maintenance team on a FIFO Perth roster. You will perform maintenance, breakdown repairs, and fault diagnosis on heavy mobile and fixed plant, ensuring maximum reliability and availability.

Leadership and technical support to tradespeople will be part of the role. The successful candidate will hold a Diesel Fitter trade qualification, have experience with underground mining equipment, solid fault‑finding skills, and a strong safety

Qualifications

• Relevant Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment or Diesel Fitter trade qualification.
• Experience maintaining underground mining equipment, particularly heavy mobile plant.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills, with knowledge of auto electrical systems and the ability to interpret schematics.
• Current manual driver’s licence and First Aid & CPR qualification.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and working effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, and fault diagnosis on heavy mobile and fixed plant to maximise equipment reliability and availability.
• Supervise and provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to tradespersons and other maintenance personnel.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements, and relevant regulations, while identifying and managing workplace risks.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and work areas, and complete required maintenance documentation, including worksheets, oil sampling, and daily records.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives, including pre-starts, toolbox talks, maintenance meetings, shift handovers, and incident investigations to support a strong safety culture.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Demonstrate
