Job summary

BDO Australia is seeking a Manager – Methodology within the Audit Professional Practice Department to lead the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of audit methodology, policies, guidance and related tools. You will execute projects, support technical consultations and help engagement teams apply requirements consistently.

Working with AAQ across audits, you will broaden audit quality capabilities, foster a culture of continuous improvement and help maintain stakeholder

Qualifications

• Strong background in external audit gained from a reputable professional services firm.
• Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing and Assurance.
• CA Qualified or equivalent.
• Experience in audit quality initiatives and activities, including resources design.
• Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Independent thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Assurance Methodology and Quality Framework development and implementation.
• Execute and contribute to methodology projects and manage workstreams.
• Monitor changes to professional standards and assess implications for methodologies.
• Develop practical templates and guidance materials for consistency and compliance.
• Provide guidance on complex engagement issues and technical consultations.
• Identify audit capability gaps and quality risks with Learning & Development teams.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives to enhance audit capabilities and reputation.
