Hall & Wilcox in Perth is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join the General Insurance team. The role focuses on defending general liability, casualty, property damage, and product liability matters for insurers, reinsurers, and corporates, with the WA courts in view.

Based in our Perth office, you will review documents, prepare evidence, draft court correspondence, consult witnesses, and supervise junior lawyers as you progress.

Qualifications

• minimum of 4 years of post-admission experience advising on defendant insurance matters
• experience in day-to-day management of files and in running matters through court proceedings
• proactive and able to work autonomously and as part of a team
• excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail
• excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
• the ability to organise and prioritise effectively

Responsabilités

• reviewing documents and the preparation of evidence
• drafting correspondence to the Court and third parties
• conferencing with witnesses and preparing witness statements
• preparing briefs for Counsel
• drafting Court documents and attendance at Court
• drafting client advices
• drafting letters of instruction to experts
• supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and other members of the team
