Job summary

Toby’s Estate Coffee in Sydney is seeking a passionate team member for our production Roasting team. The role focuses on production roasting and supporting the roasting plant and equipment at our Chippendale site.

This casual role is 38 hours per week across five days, with occasional weekend work. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the coffee production process and help create products that our customers love.

Toby’s Estate Coffee:

The story of Toby's Estate began in 1997, in the grungy streets of Woolloomooloo, armed with Mum’s garage, a beat-up coffee roaster and passion on tap, we set out on a wild adventure of business and coffee discovery. Not concerned with the frills of it all, but just that we were consistently consistent in roasting the tastiest coffee we could and treating all the people in our world like family.

Fast forward nearly 30 years and we’re an energetic team and merry band of misfits united by a common passion for doing amazing things, and at the forefront of pushing the limits of premium specialty coffee.

About the role:

You’ll be a key member of our tight-knit production Roasting team, with the primary focus on production roasting, while supporting a range of activities including maintaining roasting plant and equipment, quality assurance and handling stock at our Chippendale roasting site. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the coffee production process and be involved in creating the products that our customers love.

About you:

You’re passionate about coffee and have a genuine interest in the art and science of roasting. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working collaboratively, and take pride in delivering quality and consistency in every batch. With a proactive and curious mindset, you're keen to learn, embrace new techniques and technology, and contribute to the success of our roasting operations. Either you bring previous roasting or manufacturing experience or come from a coffee/barista background, and you're eager to build your skills and grow within coffee production.

This is a casual position working 38 hours per week across five days, with occasional weekend work required.
