Job summary

Toby’s Estate in Sydney is seeking an experienced Barista All-Rounder for our flagship café in Chippendale on a casual basis. You will pour precision espresso shots, steam milk to a high standard, and help deliver top-class customer experiences in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves front-of-house support, teamwork with a great crew, and ongoing training. We welcome someone who loves specialty coffee and is eager to grow with our hands-on cafe team, with 4–5 shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Casual Barista role; prior experience preferred.
• Passion for specialty coffee and good palate.
• Able to thrive in fast-paced cafe environment.

Responsibilities

• Pour precision espresso shots and steam milk to a high standard.
• Assist with grind adjustments and flavour profiling to maintain quality.
• Provide front-of-house support and contribute to a great customer experience.

The story of Toby's Estate began in 1997, in the grungy streets of Woolloomooloo, armed with Mum’s garage, a beat-up coffee roaster and passion on tap, we set out on a wild adventure of business and coffee discovery. Not concerned with the frills of it all, but just that we were consistently consistent in roasting the tastiest coffee we could and treating all the people in our world like family.

Fast forward 26 years we’re a crack team and merry band of misfits united by a common passion for doing amazing things, and at the forefront of pushing the limits of premium specialty coffee.

We are looking for an experienced Barista All-Rounder on a casual basis to join our flagship café in Chippendale. If you are passionate about specialty coffee and excel in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

You will be able to pour precision shots, steam milk to a consistently high standard and of course pour a beautiful cup of coffee, while be able to adjust the grind and work with flavour profiles of espresso to maximise quality.

You'll also play an important role in providing front of house support, working collaboratively with a great team to create top-notch customer service and creating unforgettable dining experiences.

We will provide ongoing training, and we’re super happy to further train the right person to fill any gaps in your knowledge!

This role includes both weekday and weekend work, estimated to be 4-5 days a week.
