Job summary

Holy Family Primary School in Canberra’s South Tuggeranong invites applications for an Assistant Principal. You will support the Principal in strategic and operational leadership, guiding teaching and learning, staff development, student wellbeing and school improvement within a collaborative, inclusive Catholic community.

Employer: Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. Start date Monday, 25 January 2026 (Term One).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching required.
• WWVP clearance is mandatory.
• TQI registration required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Religious Education or Theological Studies preferred.
• Advanced degree beyond Initial Teacher Education is advantageous.

About the Role

Qualifications and Essential Criteria

• Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People clearance (WWVP)
• ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
• Postgraduate qualification in Religious Education or Theological Studies
• Academic qualifications additional to Initial Teacher Education (Master’s Degree or five-year equivalent)
• Practicing Catholic connected to a parish or other worshipping community
• Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest
