Job summary

St Mary MacKillop College in Canberra is recruiting a senior leader to assume the role of Assistant Principal Faith, Teaching and Learning. You will drive strategic priorities for faith, teaching and learning, inclusive education and professional development across the college.

Working with the College Executive, you will strengthen pedagogy, staff capability and student outcomes, while leading innovative digital learning initiatives and upholding the Josephite charism of the college.

About the Role

The Assistant Principal Faith, Teaching and Learning is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic leadership across faith, teaching and learning, inclusive education and professional development. Working in close partnership with other members of the College Executive, the role leads whole-school teaching and learning priorities aligned with the College Strategic Plan, Annual Improvement Plan and Archdiocesan priorities, while strengthening pedagogical practices, staff capability and student outcomes. The Assistant Principal Faith, Teaching and Learning alsoleads inclusive education digital learning and innovation, and leads initiatives that promote a culture of continuous improvement along with the Vision and Josephite charism of St Mary MacKillop College.

Qualifications and Essential Criteria

• Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People clearance (WWVP)
• ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
• Postgraduate qualification in Religious Education or Theological Studies
• Academic qualifications additional to Initial Teacher Education (Master’s Degree or five-year equivalent)
• Practicing Catholic connected to a parish or other worshipping community
• Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest
