Job summary

Soonta Group is expanding its hospitality footprint across Victoria. The Assistant Operations Manager will work with the Operations Manager and Store Managers to support daily operations across multiple locations, taking a hands-on approach to develop staff, improve store performance, and maintain consistent food quality and service standards.

You will visit stores, coach teams and monitor costs, rostering and safety, while supporting recruitment and new store openings in a fast-growing brand.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Store Manager, Area Supervisor or similar hospitality leadership role.
• Strong team leadership, coaching and communication skills.
• Practical understanding of rostering, stock management and cost control.
• Hands-on approach and ability to stay organised under pressure.
• Commitment to food quality, customer service and continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel between stores and work flexibly to support operational needs.
• Experience supporting multiple locations is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Managers with daily operations, staffing and operational challenges.
• Visit stores regularly to review standards, coach teams and follow up on improvements.
• Monitor sales, labour costs, food costs and waste, helping stores meet performance targets.
• Review rosters to ensure appropriate staffing and efficient labour use.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of store teams.
• Ensure stores follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and supplier issues.
• Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally.
• Support new store openings, promotions and operational initiatives.
• Keep the Operations Manager informed of store performance and issues requiring action.
