Job summary

The Woree Tavern, part of ALH Hotels in Far North Queensland, is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to lead busy service areas from the sports bar to the gaming lounge. You’ll work with a collaborative group of assistants to run peak shifts, mentor the team, and deliver an outstanding guest experience for locals and visitors.

This role involves physical duties, holds RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence, and offers career growth, exclusive discounts across Endeavour Group brands,

Qualifications

• Hands-on hospitality management experience.
• Ability to lead a team during peak shifts.
• Current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence mandatory.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks (lifting/moving stock).

About The Role

Assistant Manager | Woree Tavern

If you are a hands-on manager who thrives in the center of a high-volume venue, the Woree Tavern offers a dynamic stage for your leadership skills. From busy game-day crowds in the sports bar to high-touch service in our gaming lounge, no two days here are ever the same.

You won't be working in isolation, our management structure relies on a collaborative group of Assistant Managers working together on the floor. You’ll partner directly with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor our energetic team, coordinate cross-departmental operations, and deliver an outstanding experience for our regular locals and Far North Queensland community.

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
