Job summary

Endeavour Group's Woree Tavern in Queensland is seeking an Assistant Manager who thrives on hands-on leadership in a high-volume venue. You will lead a collaborative team across sports bar and gaming lounge, partner with other venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor staff, and deliver an outstanding guest experience.

This role requires physical tasks, a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence, and a track record in bar, bistro, or gaming-room supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality management or supervision.
• Current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements.
• Ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
• Strong leadership and guest service focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead peak shifts and manage floor operations.
• Mentor staff and coordinate cross-departmental tasks.
• Partner with Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely and with a great vibe.
• Resolve hiccups on shift to prevent disruptions.

About the Role

Assistant Manager | Woree Tavern

If you are a hands-on manager who thrives in the center of a high-volume venue, the Woree Tavern offers a dynamic stage for your leadership skills. From busy game-day crowds in the sports bar to high-touch service in our gaming lounge, no two days here are ever the same.

You won't be working in isolation, our management structure relies on a collaborative group of Assistant Managers working together on the floor. You’ll partner directly with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor our energetic team, coordinate cross-departmental operations, and deliver an outstanding experience for our regular locals and Far North Queensland community.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licenceas per state requirements
