Job summary

Sail and Anchor is looking for an Assistant Manager to help keep the pub buzzing and loved by locals. You’ll support the Publican, lead a team of hospitality legends, and ensure smooth, safe operations with a great vibe on every shift.

You’ll bring frontline leadership, experience from the bar/bistro, and current RSA and Approved Managers Card to represent the pub when the boss is away. We value energy, service, and guests first.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff in a bar/pub environment.
• Ability to lead a team and maintain a great guest experience.
• RSA certification and Approved Managers Card to meet state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Lead a team of hospitality staff and act as the face of the pub when the boss is away.
• Handle issues promptly to prevent disruptions and uphold service standards.

Job description

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Sail and Anchorbuzzing and loved by the locals.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar and Bistro room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA & Approved Managers Card as per state requirements
