Job summary

ALH Hotels is seeking an Assistant Manager for a hands-on role in our Hyde Park location. You will lead a team, learn the ropes of managing a busy pub, and ensure safe, vibrant daily operations while the Publican is away.

This role requires an RSA and Approved Managers Card, and you’ll engage with locals to build a welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy exclusive ALH discounts and wellbeing support through Endeavour Group networks.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff in bar and bistro settings.
• Ability to lead a team with energy and a positive vibe.
• Current RSA certification and Approved Managers Card as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-of-house teams to deliver great service and safety.
• Assist Publican to run daily pub operations smoothly and with a strong culture.
• Handle issues quickly to maintain a positive guest experience.
• Motivate staff and be the face of the pub when the boss is away.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Hyde Parkbuzzing and loved by the locals.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar and bistro room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and Approved Managers Card as per state requirements
