Job summary

Pelican Waters Hotel on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead front-of-house operations across dining, sports bar, gaming lounge and events, delivering warm, authentic hospitality.

You will work hands-on with multi‑department teams, maintain gold-standard venue presentation, and ensure safety and smooth service during busy periods. A strong hospitality background and current licences are essential.

Qualifications

• Mandatory RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence per state requirements.
• Hands-on role with lifting and manual handling.
• Proven experience in hospitality leadership or supervisory roles.

The Pelican Waters Hotel is looking for a driven, customer-focused Assistant Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves classic coastal pub culture, and knows how to keep a multi-department venue firing on all cylinders!

"The Pelican" is a buzzing local centerpiece. Whether you’re steering a busy dining service out on the water-view deck, orchestrating high-energy trade in the sports bar during live games, or managing shift flow across our gaming lounge and event spaces, this role demands a leader with sharp operational instincts who loves being right in the heart of the action. We need someone who can maintain gold-standard venue presentation, keep service standards tight, and deliver warm, authentic hospitality to our loyal regulars and Sunshine Coast visitors.

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
