Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager for the Caloundra Hotel to drive floor strategy and elevate guest experiences across a transformed venue. You will work with a peer-led leadership team to share shifts, support the Publican, and lead service excellence across dining, sports lounge, and gaming areas.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality leadership experience, strong guest focus, and current licences (RSA/RSG, RMLV, Approved Managers).

Qualifications

• Must hold RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements.
• Experience supervising hospitality staff or teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead floor operations and maintain service standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Assistant Managers across multiple venues or spaces.
• Oversee peak dining shifts, sports lounge, and gaming floor operations.
• Collaborate with Publican and peers to ensure smooth, safe operations.
• Model and drive elevated customer service and energy on shift.
• Manage issues proactively to prevent service disruption.

About the Role

Assistant Manager | Caloundra Hotel

Are you a hospitality professional looking to leave your mark on a newly transformed venue? The Caloundra Hotel is looking for a driven, floor-focused Assistant Manager to join our collaborative leadership group as we transition through a major refurbishment and launch a brand-new operational chapter on Bulcock Street!

We skip the traditional isolated Duty Manager model, instead, our venue is powered by a team of multiple Assistant Managers. You’ll work alongside a strong group of peers to share shift load, collaborate on floor strategy, and embed elevated service standards across the newly renovated spaces. Whether running peak dining shifts in the upgraded bistro, orchestrating high-energy trade in the new sports lounge, or overseeing gaming floor operations, you’ll be right at the forefront of the action with total team support.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
