Job summary

Pacific Hotel on the Central Coast is seeking a driven Assistant Manager to lead floors, ensure high standards, and maintain a welcoming vibe across the bistro, gaming, and beer garden during busy shifts.

You will support the Publican, supervise a team of hospitality professionals, perform hands-on duties, and bring energy, service, and authentic hospitality. RSA, RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring manual handling and lifting.
• Some supervisory experience in hospitality preferred.
• RSA, RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence required as per state rules.

The Pacific Hotel is looking for a driven, floor-focused Assistant Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves regional pub culture, and knows how to keep a multi-department venue firing on all cylinders!

"The Pacific" is a buzzing coastal epicenter. Whether you’re steering a massive lunch service in the bistro, orchestrating a high-tempo weekend trade in the beer garden with live music, or keeping operations seamless across gaming, this role demands a leader with sharp operational instincts who loves being right in the heart of the action. We need someone who can maintain gold-standard presentation, keep standards sky-high, and deliver warm, authentic service to locals and tourists alike.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA, RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
