Job summary

Pacifica Housing is seeking an Assistant Manager of Supportive Housing to oversee day-to-day operations at our Victoria site. You will supervise staff, support policy compliance, and help maintain a safe, inclusive living environment for residents.

The role includes staff mentoring, on-call rotation with the management team, and collaboration with HR. A commitment to trauma-informed care and social justice aligns with our Living Wage Employer status.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years recent experience including at least 1 year supervisory experience in the non-profit housing or related social service field.
  • Experience working with populations impacted by homelessness, addictions, mental health issues or other barriers to stable housing.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and Housing First models.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and provide daily operational support for the assigned site.

  • Approve timesheets, time-off requests, and mileage/expense claims in ADP.
  • Respond to staffing needs and coordinate with HR and the Admin Coordinator.

  • Participate in program evaluation, data collection, and report submission.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational problem-solving as part of the management team.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation with other Supportive Services Managers.
  • As assigned by the Manager of Supportive Housing.

Title: Assistant Manager of Supportive Housing

Reports to: Manager of Supportive Housing
Compensation: $57K-68K annually, commensurate with experience
Schedule: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Sunday to Thursday (75 hours bi-weekly)

Position’s Primary Objective:

To assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of supportive housing, provide direct supervision to staff, support policy compliance, and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment for residents.

Other related duties and tasks as required:
  • As assigned by the Manager of Supportive Housing.
Qualifications (minimum Education and Experience requirements):

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Education:
  • A degree in a related human/social service field preferred.
  • Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience.
  • Current Intermediate First Aid Certificate.
  • Naloxone administration training required.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years recent experience including at least one year supervisory experience in the non-profit housing or a related social service field.
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully with populations impacted by homelessness, addictions, mental health issues and/or other barriers to stable housing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and Housing First models.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team support skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act.
  • Excellent crisis prevention and conflict management abilities.
Additional Criteria for Role:
  • Completion of a Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice is required.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle with 'business class' insurance and adequate liability ($2 million minimum).
  • On-Call availability required.
