Job summary

Pacific Link Housing is seeking a Housing Officer to manage a portfolio of properties across the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions. You will be the primary contact for tenants, building strong relationships and delivering person-centred services.

You will handle leases, inspections, arrears, and dispute mediation, applying tenancy laws to sustain tenancies and ensure safe, affordable homes for residents.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of property/tenancy management.
• Strong customer service and ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of NSW tenancy legislation and related policies.
• Hold a current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across the footprint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sign tenancy agreements, handle property condition reports, and process bonds.
• Address tenant issues, conduct routine inspections, and coordinate with Support/Assets teams.
• Manage rent arrears, mediate tenant and neighbour complaints, and represent Pacific Link Housing at NCAT when needed.
• Apply the Residential Tenancies Act and organisation policies to keep tenants informed and supported.

You’ll be responsible for providing essential, person-centered services to people in housing need. What You'll Be Doing

As a Housing Officer, you'll be a key part of our Tenancy team, managing a portfolio of properties across the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter regions. You’ll be the main point of contact for our tenants, using your expertise to build strong relationships and provide clear, fair guidance.

Though no two days are the same in Tenancy, here’s a little of what you can expect:

• Preparing and signing tenancy agreements, handling property condition reports, and processing bonds to ensure a smooth start for our new residents.
• Proactively addressing tenant issues, conducting routine property inspections, and collaborating with our Support and Assets teams to deliver the best possible service.
• Managing rent arrears, mediating tenant and neighbour complaints, and representing Pacific Link Housing at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) when needed.
• Using your knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and our policies to provide transparent information, helping tenants make informed decisions to sustain their tenancies.

• The ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
• A professional and positive attitude, representing Pacific Link Housing with pride.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• A current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across our footprint including our head office in Gosford regularly.
• Knowledge of NSW Tenancy legislation and the Community Housing industry is a plus, but we’re happy to help you learn!
