Job summary

The Golden Fleece in Melton is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead day-to-day venue operations and drive team performance. You will work closely with the Venue Manager to deliver exceptional customer experiences while developing a high-performing team.

This hands-on role requires strong leadership, compliance knowledge, and flexibility to cover a rotating roster, including nights and weekends. A focus on staff development and safe, compliant gaming operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality leadership or management experience.
• Strong understanding of venue operations and customer service.
• Hands-on, positive, team-focused leadership style.
• Ability to perform in fast-paced venues.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of gaming and compliance is highly regarded.
• Flexibility for rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Current Victorian RSA, RSG and Gaming Employee Licence.
• Do Food Safety Certificate.
• Full Australian working rights.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join the team at The Golden Fleece in Melton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in fast-paced venues, and is passionate about delivering great customer experiences while supporting and developing a high-performing team.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, supporting team leadership, compliance, gaming operations, customer service and overall venue performance.

Regular roster pattern between 7am and 10pm, with one venue close per month.

Featuring modern facilities including a family friendly bistro, with both indoor and outdoor dining areas for all to enjoy. Along with an extensive modern menu with daily specials, the Golden Fleece Hotel caters to both children and adults alike.

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club, managing a growing network of 17 pubs, clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros, sports bars, function spaces and gaming areas, each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.
