Steeples in Mornington is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead hands-on hospitality operations, working closely with the Venue Manager to boost guest experience and team performance.

This role sits within Pegasus Leisure Group’s dining and entertainment network, offering career development, a supportive leadership team, and a rotating roster. You’ll oversee gaming compliance, training, events, and customer service while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality leadership or management experience.
• Strong understanding of venue operations and customer service.
• Hands-on, positive, team-focused leadership style.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of gaming compliance is highly regarded.
• Flexibility to work on nights, weekends, holidays.
• Current Victorian RSA, RSG, and Gaming Employee Licence.
• Do Food Safety Certificate and full Australian working rights.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join the team at Steeples in Mornington.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys being hands‑on, thrives in fast‑paced venues, and is passionate about delivering great customer experiences while supporting and developing a high‑performing team.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day operations of the venue, supporting team leadership, compliance, gaming operations, customer service and overall venue performance.

Regular roster pattern between 7am and 10pm, with one venue close per month.

Located on the Mornington Peninsula, Steeples is a dining and entertainment complex situated next to the Mornington Racecourse.

Featuring modern facilities including a family friendly bistro, a designated kids play area and an alfresco deck; there are dining experiences for all to enjoy. Along with an extensive modern menu with daily specials, Steeples caters to both children and adults alike.

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club, managing a growing network of 17 pubs, clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros, sports bars, function spaces and gaming areas, each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the day-to-day operations of the venue

• Ability to work well in fast‑paced environments

• Knowledge of gaming and compliance requirements is highly regarded
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Current Victorian RSA
• Current Victorian RSG
• Current Victorian Gaming Employee Licence
• Do Food Safely Certificate
