Job summary

Omni Recruit is partnering with a Newtown wing restaurant in Sydney to find an Assistant Kitchen Manager. You will lead the line, mentor the team and help run a tight, profitable kitchen, backing the Head Chef day to day.

You will manage ordering, stocktakes, suppliers, wastage, and food cost, build rosters, and ensure food safety and compliance. This is a permanent role with a clear path to Head Chef or Kitchen Manager and a salary of $70K–$75K plus super.

Qualifications

• Experience as a sous chef, kitchen supervisor or junior kitchen manager in a busy venue.
• NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
• Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
• Solid understanding of food cost, ordering and rostering.
• Full Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

• Backing the Head Chef day to day, and leading the kitchen when they're off.
• Keeping every plate consistent and every service smooth.
• Managing ordering, stocktakes, suppliers, wastage and food cost.
• Building rosters and keeping labour on budget.
• Owning food safety, cleaning, WHS and compliance.
• Recruiting, training and growing a strong kitchen crew.
