Qualifications

Job Description

Personal Care Assistant – Aged Care Liberty Pace Staffing is seeking compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistants to support residents in aged care facilities. You will work alongside nursing and care teams to provide person-centred care that promotes residents’ dignity, independence and wellbeing. Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence care.
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and positioning, following individual care plans and safe manual handling procedures.
• Assist with meals and hydration, following residents’ dietary requirements and care plans.
• Provide companionship and encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ health, behaviour or wellbeing to the supervising nurse.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Respect residents’ choices, privacy, cultural needs and confidentiality.
• Work collaboratively with facility staff and follow care plans, policies and procedures.

Skills and requirements**

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Previous experience in residential aged care is desirable.
• A compassionate, respectful and patient approach to supporting older people.
• Good communication, teamwork and time management skills.
• Ability to follow care instructions and recognise when to seek assistance.
• Relevant screening checks, training and vaccination evidence.
• Valid Australian working rights.
• Reliability and willingness to work across different facilities and shifts.
