Learning Wonderland Early Learning in Riverwood NSW is seeking an experienced Assistant Director (2IC) / Educational Leader to join our leadership team. You will mentor educators, lead curriculum in line with EYLF and NQS, and ensure daily management of the service.

This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, off-the-floor responsibilities, and stepping into the Director's role when required, with a focus on child safety and strong relationships with children and families.

Qualifications

• Has ACECQA-approved ECT or Diploma qualification.
• Diploma applicants must have 5+ years' Educational Leader experience.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an early childhood service.
• Committed to child safety, rights and safe, responsive environments.
• Holds a current Working With Children Check.
• Holds current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis qualifications.
• Has current Child Protection training.

Learning Wonderland Early Learning is a small, independently owned 39-place early learning service in Riverwood, catering for children from 3 months to 5 years.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Director (2IC) / Educational Leader to join our leadership team.

This is an important leadership position within our service and would suit someone who enjoys being actively involved with educators and children while also taking responsibility for mentoring, curriculum leadership, compliance and the day-to-day operation of the service.

About the Role

Working closely with the Centre Director and Approved Provider, you will play a key role in the leadership and day-to-day operation of the service.

As our Assistant Director (2IC), you will support the Centre Director with the daily management of the centre and be confident stepping into the Director's role when required.

As our Educational Leader, you will lead and support our educators in delivering meaningful, high-quality educational programs aligned with the EYLF and National Quality Standard.

Weekly Structure

• 3 days: Preschool Educational Leader (3–5 years).
• 2 days: Providing break cover across the service, and off the floor undertaking Assistant Director and Educational Leader responsibilities.
• This position is required to work the opening shift from 7:30 am, alongside another educator.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead our Preschool Room and deliver a high-quality educational program.
• Support the Centre Director with the daily management of the service.

• Mentor and support educators with programming, observations and critical reflection.
• Lead curriculum development in line with the EYLF and NQS.
• Support compliance, Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and continuous improvement.

About You

We welcome applications from both Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs) and Diploma-qualified educators.

Essential requirements

• ACECQA-approved ECT or Diploma qualification.
• Diploma applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working as an Educational Leader.
• Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework.
• Previous leadership experience within an early childhood service.
• A strong commitment to child safety, children's rights and creating environments where children feel safe and heard.
• Current Working With Children Check.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis qualifications.
• Current Child Protection training.
