Job summary

Goodstart Nelson Bay seeks an experienced Assistant Director to lead the centre team and collaborate with the Centre Director to drive quality in early learning. You will motivate staff, support families, and uphold efficient centre operations.

You will hold a Diploma in Early Childhood, NSW Working with Children Check, and proven leadership in education or community services. The role offers above-award pay, generous benefits, and growth opportunities within Australia’s largest early learning

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved).
• Hold a NSW Working with Children Check, or be willing to obtain one.
• Experience with leading and managing change within education, health or community services.
• Experience in delivering integrated early childhood services in areas of disadvantage.
• Proven commercial acumen with financial and operational performance management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care.
• Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team.
• Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence.
• Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide.

Pay: $46.76 to $ 48.39 per hour plus Super

As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Nelson Bay, you will use your experience and leadership qualities to engage and motivate your centre team to drive continuous improvement in all aspects across centre operation. You will work in collaboration with your centre leadership team and establish respectful and reciprocal relationships with families and engage in networks within the centre’s local community.

In this role, you will:

• Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care.
